Comment on Eureka City Council Study Ways to Sell Pot to Raise Money by Joe

Yeah, right. Kids can't get pot in Humboldt County because it's so hard to find.

The government shouldn't be selling marijuana, but it's silly to think that medical marijuana dispensaries make marijuana more available to children. Kids aren't buying their pot from those establishments. Pot is super easy to get anywhere in this country and it would be really hard to make it more available than it already is in Humboldt County. Your death and destruction talk is just nonsense.

Someday we're going to end up completely legalizing marijuana and regulating it similar to the way we regulate alcohol. People like you will go into panic mode and have your little hissy fits, but within a few years people will see that the sky isn't going to fall in and before long most everyone will be wondering why we didn't legalize it a long time ago. The government cannot make pot hard to find. They can't make it too expensive for the average person to use regularly if he so chooses. They aren't really deterring anyone from using it either. Most pot smokers will never get caught and if they do all they get is a slap on the wrist, unless they have medical marijuana cards in which case they don't even get their pot confiscated. If people want to smoke pot, they're already smoking it. Precious few out there want to smoke pot but don't just because it is illegal. All we are doing is wasting a fortune trying in vain to keep up the ban on pot, enriching organized crime to the tune of many billions of dollars a year, and causing all sorts of other problems in the process. We're doing way more harm than good keeping marijuana illegal.

Considering the drug money that is buying our politicians up here this is to be expected. Funny how the government wants to keep cigs and booze away from kids in the name of public health, but to buy votes and pick up some cash they are willing to tell the kids that smoking dope is ok.

Comment on MALL Shame - Spencer Gifts and General Growth Properties by Shatter

1. The fact that your stating that these shirts are geared towards little girls is FAR from the truth. Spencers targets ages 18 to 21.

2. On the outside of every spencers store you will find a sticker that states "Parental Advisory". What does this mean? this means that you need to be WATCHING your children and TEACHING them which stores you do and do not want them in. None of the items in Spencer's is geared towards anyone under the age of 18. Now if your LETTING your children walk into Spencer's KNOWING what they have in that store... well then I guess thats your choice is it not? Stop using the mall as a baby sitter. I catch more kids stealing then I do adults... hmmm I wonder why... oh because their parents are watching them.

3. You going to the mall and claiming that this is inappropriate... a waste really. You really think that they will ask that store to leave because you made a complaint? or that they even have the right to say anything about whats within that store. NO THEY DON'T! Spencer's pays their lease as does every other store and within that lease you will find that the mall has no right to say what is right and what is wrong to sell. Note that spencers has never hidden or denied anyone the truth of what they sell.

4. You needing to generalize AMERICA is very undereducated. You think that because you are an american that you have the RIGHT to say anything about anyone. Well yes you do have the right To say whatever the FUCK you want. But its all opinion... nothing you say will or can change what is going on. WHY don't you go to the white house and tell the president to stop bombing other nations... I think that is ALOT more important that a Tshirt. I'm sure you still think it was osama that caused 9/11. Wake up!

5. And actually spencers is NOT all about making the sell. Spencer's is about making its CUSTOMER happy. Spencer's targets people between the ages of 18 to 25. Now here is a question for you... if you put a baby infront of a book that says SEX. Will that baby go and have sex? no because that baby does not understand what sex is... but due to the fact that you have let your children be around anything that might teach them about that including schools... THEN only would the child understand the "Naughty" things that Spencer's sells. Maybe you should be teaching your children to stay away from places such as Spencer's until they are old enough to understand and make their own decisions.... oh no wait thats right the mall is your baby sitter... we are the ones teaching your children right? and the Tv... and the radio... and the schools... WOW I guess we're to blame because your children don't know right from wrong. Because your not TEACHING THEM RIGHT FROM WRONG.

I'm sorry to say but I am 23. A store manager of a spencers and a past customer when I was younger. I lived through a life of hell compared to what spencer's depicts. being molested and abused... and funny how I find none of what spencer's sells harmful. Because none of the stuff we sell isn't what people aren't already thinking? Everything Spencer's sells is based on what the CUSTOMERS want... they don't just make stuff up to piss you off... THEY GO TO THE SOURCE!! THE CUSTOMERS!!

People come into my store and say "this place is weird"... funny how its not the place but the people that shop there.

if your so worried about your children being exposed to this... lock them up in bubble... because everything I learned as a kid did not come from SPENCERS. It came from school and more horrible places that I would not like to depict for you. and guess what its not SPENCERS fault for what happened to me.

So stop looking for someone or something to blame. take responsibility for your children and if you don't like something stay the ##### away from it. Thats my free speech to you.

============
ED NOTE: If you had bothered to read the article you would have seen that the shirt WAS NOT IN THE STORE BUT OUTSIDE THE STORE IN THE MALL ASILE. And I am very pleased to announce that store and mall policy was changed as a result of this article in every General Growth property across the nation. As for your marketing to 18 year olds, I still have the shirt and I can state firmly here......unless you are a dwarf, it won't fit. Nice try though.

Nice press brief. I think you would be better at the job than anybody going back to Scott McClellan. You seem to have more access to information than he did though. It was kind of creepy to hear that much truth coming from that podium.
Great effects but I think you should put a pad under the mic. I played the clip through a Studiomaster Diamond stereo mixer into a Carvin fet 1000 amp into a pair of 15 inch Electro Voice speakers with titanium tweeters.
I could hear massive bass when you tapped the podium.
My toys are juvenile in comparison with what you must have, but it is fun to have big audio for the notebook.
Keep making people think.

=============
ED NOTE: Still working the bugs out of some of the new cabability just added, thanks for letting me know about the bass and good sound suggestion. The main thing that drives me nuts is having to compress down to something that will play on the internet without losing too much audio and video quality. An average 5 minute clip in raw form is about 150mb. Great for playing on a DVD on a TV screen, but with interent connections I take that down to about 15mb. I would imagine over the next two years tech is going to catch up with capability and there is going to be an explosion into A/V and away from text on the internet.

Dave in Mack Town, not all kids have good parents.
To the rest of you, I guess I will have to start buying bagels at Los Bagels. I'm more of a beer fan than bagel fan but I don't think I will be buying any beer from these breweries that want people under the age of 18 entering into contracts that could end up getting them killed. Anyone that thinks the government should have full access to our youth without the consent of their parents is anti American in my book. Let the men and women do the fighting and let the boys and girls finish school without being brainwashed by the military. If there aren't enough recruits to defend this country, we should re instigate the draft. This isn't about being anti military, it's about choice. If parents of kids under 18 want their kids to be recruited, they still have that choice. It should be a choice until they reach the age of consent. Does anybody here think that those under 18 should be exposed to recruitment from the porn industry? How about giving free cigarettes to kids in high school? You are saying that those under 18 are capable of making these decisions. Maybe some of them are. But the parents should make the decision, not the military.

I'm a Vietnam veteran with three grown sons. None of them went into the military despite being hounded by recruiters. That's because I made sure they always had access to both sides of an argument.I made sure they were well-informed about the horrors of war. I never tried to HIDE THEM FROM REALITY because I wanted them to be able to make important decisions based on facts. Especially life-changing ones.

Banning recruiters is like saying, "I'm afraid my kid is going to make the wrong choice (not mature enough), and that he/she's not smart enough to decide, although they are going to be old enough to go into the military soon."

Education starts at home folks. Not in spewing rhetoric against our troops.

"FOLLOW UP: 26 Mar 09 - I received a call from Bill Prescott of Los Bagels, who issued the following statement: “we support the measures passed by the votors in Eureka and Arcata and the event”. Los Bagels is the only listed sponsor of the program spoken to that has issued support for raising money to defend the banning of military recruiters in the cities of Eureka and Arcata."

I printed this out and will be posting it on the wall at the VFW. I guarantee no one associated with the military will EVER walk into one of those bagel shops again.

I don't drink beer, but my wife and I are going to miss the bagel on Saturday morning. Either these businesses are too stupid to ask where their money and food is going or they support it with a wink and a nod. Either way, they have seen my last dime. Our service men and women and our contry deserves better. I agree with the other comment. Please put up pictures of our city leaders attending.

My wife just sent me this link, she works for one of the beer companies mentioned. The management brought everyone into the office and they are pissed off big time. Just say this group won't be getting any beer. Good reporting!

Comment on Jim Gilchrist Minuteman Founder Relates Bomb Attack in San Francisco by The REAL Jack Sharpe

He who laughs last, laughs best!

The court has spoken, now it's time to get back on mission!

Court Victory For Gilchrist

“It was long overdue and warmly welcomed” was the quote made by Jim Gilchrist upon receiving the news, “the hijacker’s case they had fraudulently filed in the name of the Minuteman Project was thrown out of court; on none other, than, Friday the 13th!”

There is no doubt Marvin Stewart, Debbie Courtney and Paul Sielski had a very bad Friday the 13th, when they learned Judge Wilkinson threw them out on their ear. Not only that, but once again, Courtney was slammed with a big fat court fine! The sanction was over $ 1,000.00, which is just another court fine added to her growing collection of violations.

During the hearing Stewart, flailing his arms and bellowing his pompous rhetoric into the face of Superior Court Judge Wilkinson, lead to an extremely harsh warning from the Judge. The Judge fired back to the ranting Stewart: “You are very close to committing a felony” (court transcripts soon to be posted).

Jim Gilchrist and his counsel for the Minuteman Project, Inc. are reviewing the proceedings and other court statements made by the Minuteman imposters: Stewart, Courtney and Sielski, to verify if there is a pattern of “in court felonies” they have committed. If felonies are discovered, then the prosecution of these Minuteman charlatans would be expedited.

Gilchrist is now on schedule to clear his name. He has directed his complete legal staff to concentrate on “bringing the Stewart gang of impersonators” to justice. Under Gilchrist’s direction, the legal staff sprung into action and filed a blistering suit, on behalf of the Minuteman Project, Inc. against several of the fraudulent tricksters. In the action Gilchrist is demanding the return of all stolen monies Stewart and Courtney embezzled from the Minuteman Project’s Corporate account.

The Minuteman Project’s counsel has demanded more than 7 times, in numerous depositions for the alleged “smoking gun evidence.” To date, the hijackers have not complied with the demands to deliver the evidence.

Gilchrist with the authority of the court in hand, demands all the supposed evidence the Minuteman swindlers say they possess, be immediately surrendered. Yet, to date, Stewart, Courtney and Sielski “can’t seem to find the evidence,” “forgot to bring it” or “will get it next time.” Those excuses will no longer work! The court will force them to prove their allegations under oath!

“I demand my day in court! I will have my good name back. Show my counsel, and me, the so-called evidence used to cut my throat and to knife me in the back.” Eichler said.

Minutemen stay on mission; don’t let these distractions keep you from saving America. God Bless The U.S.A.!

When I was young, we didn't have to exercise much because we had jobs.
Kennedy did make us exercise in school and we didn't have as many fat people then. We also didn't have any high fructose corn syrup.
