Old Glory Radio is pleased to announce that at noon, Wednesday 1 April 2009 we will be gathering at the Humboldt County courthouse in Eureka Ca., to honor the former President of the United States, George W. Bush.

The purpose of the meeting is to establish a committee for the raising of funds to commission either a statue or bust of the former president to display in the Eureka Ca public area.

As this can be an expensive project, it may only be possible to have a bust made, location to be the library, should a full stature be able to be financed, we hope to have a formal statue placed in the Plaza downtown in Eureka.

George W Bush has served as a symbol of the hope of freedom for millions around the world. His successful operation of liberation and freedom is a legacy that will never be forgotten. His ability to maintain our civil liberties, and through keen financial oversight, has both warmed our hearts and protected our pocketbooks during these troubled times.

Perhaps Michael Gerson writing in the Washington Post has captured the essence of his administration when he wrote:

“But that humanity is precisely what I will remember. I have seen President Bush show more loyalty than he has been given, more generosity than he has received. I have seen his buoyancy under the weight of malice and his forgiveness of faithless friends. Again and again, I have seen the natural tug of his pride swiftly overcome by a deeper decency — a decency that is privately engaging and publicly consequential.

Humboldt County Ca., is a place of tolerance, a land of vision. I know the many citizens of the county will welcome an opportunity to reflect upon and honor the good works of such a man.

The creation of a statue will be an enduring symbol of history in the community, Something that parents and teachers can use as a teaching aid and serve as a daily reminder to the community of the man….the times……and our appreciation of his public sacrifice.

We will be meeting at noon in front of the courthouse on 1 April to demonstrate our love for the memory of the wonderful years that we all were a part of. Tom Fredriksen, the host of Old Glory Radio, will deliver a short speech. Please bring signs and flags. Anyone who has composed a song or poem…….feel free to perform. Those with the financial means….your checkbooks.

FOLLOW UP: We have received so many emails of support and pledges that we will be attending the next city council meeting to secure placement and based on the place will go into design mode. Video footage of the protest against St Mary’s College for bringing in Terrorist Bill Ayers to speak to the students at the college this evening. Over the next few days I will put up more video. Crowd estimates of 500 protesters have been reported by local media. The St Mary’s college administration kept the protesters from asking any questions or confronting Ayers. Further information can be found at Pipe Line News who was covering the event with me as well. Special thanks to Wm. Mayer, the E&P at Pipe Line for his help in getting me into the Ayers lecture itself……they weren’t going to let me in and he threatened to unleash the crowd unless they did.01/28/09

FOLLOW UP: continued outrage at St Mary’s College with threats from alum to cut off funding. There is more anger at the college than at Bill Ayers. The smug attempt to protect Ayers from questions by the college is backfiring. In all the coverage I have done on college campus protests over the years, I have to say St Mary’s is the absolute bottom of the liberal institution sewer. These kids are treated like livestock by the effeminate metrosexual administration and professors that I witnessed. What capped it off was one of the admin staff leaving after the event in a beret…..good grief. Pray for the students at St Mary’s College….but I fear it is too late……Tom

Yes, the Old Glory Radio cameras were present today to film the Gay Pride and March festival in Arcata Ca. The event was organized by humboldtpride.org in relation to the anti gay marriage ballot measure coming up this November here in California. Arcata is located about a five hour drive up the coast from San Francisco. 09/14/08

NOTE: I have to say, these guys raise a great deal of money for local charity. Everyone was quite nice to me. I don’t want to confuse the …..dare I say “radical” elements in the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence nationwide organization with this group who are just sort of doing their thing and not bothering anyone. One group to the south of me, the Russian River group I have been following for quite a while and they raise a substantial amount of money for local children and older people not able to take care of themselves. One leader of note down there, Sister Sparkle, has actually turned the group into a community resource. I find this group interesting in that they act quite conservative in their business functions, yet visibly allow Obama groups to set up at their gatherings.
