Yeah, torture and manly men! That’s what this country needs, more testosterone. Do my guns make me a man? Is Jesus an effeminate waste of time for spouting love above everything else? Your rant sounds like something I would expect from an Islamic radical.

Okay, Tom, I’m a little late to the party, but lemme just add my two pesos worth. Yeah, what this country does need is more testosterone. There is a measureable reduction in the testosterone levels in males in this nation, due to a variety of factors including environmental and nutritional. In concert with societal influences, this has led to a feminizing of the modern American male. This is a change which, I beleive, could be welcomed only by the enemies of our nation and of Western civilization. The outworking of this condition is seen in the prevalance of political leaders, usually on the Left, who exhibit a lack of willingness to stand firm in the face of those who would do us harm. They seem to lack a sense of territorial imperative. They show a willingness to compromise core values in exchange for promises of safety. All this to be blamed on a lack of hormone? No. But that lack does have an effect which contributes to the problem. Guns don’t make the man any more than clothes do. But men are willing to bring guns to bear when the occasion calls for it. Jesus was and is more manly than any human man in all existence, past, present, and future. Period. He was never effeminate, and stands as the model for all men. And while Jesus did speak of love as the greatest of things, he wasn’t speaking of having some kind of warm fuzzy kum-ba-yah feeling for all people. He drove the moneychangers out of the Temple with something resembling a cat-o’nine-tails. He told his disciples to sell their cloaks and buy a sword. He exhibited love in all that he did. Love for His Father’s house. Loving concern for the physical safety of his disciples. When dealing with an implacable enemy bent on killing you and your family, neighbors, and countrymen, I believe that you would do whatever it took to stop them. Out of love.
